Lately I have been following a guy's
post on his bicycle trip from Guangxi to Tibet. As a matter of fact, he is the
third bicycling-to-Tibet heroes I have followed. For those who have bravely
completed this trip, being on this trip, or about to embark on this trip, I
give you my utmost praise and unreserved worship.
As a coward enthusiast for the Chengdu-Tibet
road, I will not venture to find excuse for my infinitely postponed trip. Like
many desk-men, I crave freedom but fail to make it happen. When I browse
through the breath-taking pictures posted by those bicycling on the road to
Tibet and read through their joys and suffering, I had a strong urge to be
bestowed with the magic power that allows me to immediately enter any picture I
view and teleport me there. For those who have bravely backpacked their way
through the world, it’s a power they already possess. Sadly, I can’t seem to
take the first step by myself. If only there is a fairy. If only she can grant
me this shameless wish!
旅游&旅行-tourism & travel. I can’t put a precise translation to distinguish between them, but it’s certain that I have never been fond of tourism and sightseeing. On the contrary, I admire those who travel. No luxurious entertainment or short-term vacation, just a backpack, a book and a person setting out to explore the world and connect with his inner self. These people are the most beautiful kind. They live in the world, seeking company from nothing but the stars and the sun. They live in pictures. That’s also my dearest wish and the ultimate goal of my life.
